JOB TITLE: Clinic Registered Nurse LOCATION: Geisinger Medical Center DEPARTMENT: Pediatric Hematology Oncology WORK SCHEDULE: Days WORK TYPE: Full Time
JOB SUMMARY: Performs patient assessment and triage. Conducts patient/family/significant other education and documents appropriately. Provides nursing care and assists physicians. Meets the qualifications to provide care for patients in the specific age range on their assigned nursing unit. Performs duties to provide the highest level of patient care and maximize patient satisfaction. Works under the supervision of a Senior Clinic Nurse and Operations Manager.
COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS: Demonstrates strong organizational skills, good interpersonal skills and a high regard for confidentiality. Demonstrates effectiveness and accuracy in the completion of responsibilities. Demonstrates flexibility, tact and ability to perform both independently and as a team member. EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: Current RN license in Pennsylvania, or eligible to be licensed, required. Bachelor's of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred. BLS certified required. PALS certified preferred. Chemotherapy certification preferred. Minimum two years Pediatric or clinic related prior experience required. Epic experience preferred.
WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Work is typically performed in a clinical environment. Travels to staff outreach sites as needed.
