We are recruiting for a Director, Psychosocial and Spiritual Care Services to join our Kindred at Home Division.  This position can be located anywhere in the United States, however required travel to Atlanta, GA is approximately 25%.

Summary:

The Director of Clinical Support Services serves as a subject matter expert and liaison regarding the clinical development, programming, and practice of the Medical Social Workers, Managers of Volunteer Services, Spiritual Care and Bereavement Coordinators within the Hospice Division.  The position achieves results through evaluation of current clinical processes, care delivery, and performance improvement activity; provides education, professional development, and other supportive services to clinical support employees. Drawing from a working knowledge of program operations, Company policies, industry standards and State/ Federal regulations, the Director of Clinical Support Services collaborates with Regional/Area/Site-Location Leadership to ensure that associates have the appropriate training and resources to successfully perform their job duties.  Serves as a mentor to program clinical leadership and works in collaboration with Regional, Divisional, and Corporate partners to ensure programs achieve overall clinical quality performance objectives, outcomes, and metrics. Has responsibility for informing and directing best practice standards for clinical support roles, i.e. Social Work, Spiritual Care, and Bereavement

Essential Functions:

• Organizes and provides comprehensive education/in-service to members of the clinical support team through a variety of modalities
• Consults with Regional/Area/Site-Location staff to identify solutions to program, area and region needs and concerns related to psychosocial, spiritual programming
• Manages resources wisely and identifies opportunities to improve efficiency and performance
• Recommends changes or revisions to policies and procedures as necessary
• Collaborates on orientation, in-service training, and continuing education to ensure clinical support staff is competent to provide services and optimal patient care
• Participates in performance improvement and quality improvement activities for the Hospice Division
• Maintains awareness of changes in the regulations and requirements by accrediting bodies and current methodology and practices
• Mentors and directs operations to ensure the provision of quality service is consistent with applicable standards of clinical practice, government laws/regulations and corporate policies, guidelines and standards. Maintains a good working relationship both within the department and with other departments
• Collaborates with operations and clinical management team to assist in meeting business and clinical objectives – supporting/maximizing current business activities, future growth and provision of quality patient care
• Participates in risk management and safety activities and ensures notification to appropriate divisional and corporate team members as necessary
• Provides direction and education regarding clinical process improvement methods and guides Regional/ Area/Site-Location Leadership in the implementation of new processes, procedures and methods
• Provides expertise/consultation in answering questions from Administrative and Field staff members regarding policy/regulation/procedures/documentation/processes
• Develops and prepares communications to keep operations and clinical management informed of status, problems, achievements, etc
• Provides direction and support to the executive director, clinical management, and area/regional teams to ensure effective orientation for program staff
• Keeps abreast of pertinent information regarding policy, regulation, clinical practice, procedures and operations. Serves as a key clinical process resource to staff, physicians and area team
• Adheres to and participates in Company’s mandatory HIPAA privacy program/practices and Business Ethics and Compliance programs / practices. Reviews and adheres to all Company policies and procedures and the Employee Handbook. Participates in special projects and performs other duties as assigned
