The Department seeks candidates that have developed or demonstrate great potential for developing a strong research program and excellent teaching skills. Qualifications include a PhD or other appropriate doctoral degree from an accredited institution in fields such as: health services research, management or health management, public health management, operations research, organizational theory, sociology or medical sociology, psychology, or other social sciences; a demonstrated record of research and scholarly work; highly effective interpersonal skills; and the ability to work well with inter-disciplinary teams. A record of obtaining extramural funding is especially important for those seeking a more senior level appointment.
