Coordinator, Community Health Improvement
Morristown Medical Center, Morristown, NJ
Atlantic Health System
Atlantic Health System is one of the largest non-profit health care systems in New Jersey. We are comprised of Morristown Medical Center, Overlook Medical Center in Summit, Newton Medical Center, Chilton Medical Center, Hackettstown Medical Center and Goryeb Children’s Hospital – all of which are accredited by The Joint Commission. Atlantic Health System aims to deliver the highest quality, safety and care combined with the best experience for our patients and their families. We are confident that you will find success within Atlantic Health System, which has been named for the 8th year in a row to Fortune’s “Top 100 Best U.S. Companies to Work For” list. We believe you’ll find that our culture of collaboration and care exemplifies the value we place on our patients, their families and our employees.
We have an excellent opportunity for a full time Coordinator, Community Health Improvement at the Atlantic Center for Population Health Sciences to support community health improvement activities by providing: program/intervention design, translation of best-practices from the literature, program evaluation design, data collection, small and large group facilitations, and capacity-building exercises. Will also collect and analyze public health data (local and national) to inform community health improvement activities, present data back to stakeholders in appropriate, real-world format to aide decision-making, work collaboratively with other departments, partner agencies and community members to respond to design and implement best practice research and interventions for public health and lead and manage projects on behalf of the Center and represent us with various stakeholder groups.
Nested within Atlantic Health’s “Community Engagement and Health Improvement” Department, the Atlantic Center for Population Health Sciences provides program planning, program evaluation and applied research services for Atlantic Health System (www.atlantichealth.org), its community partners, and the North Jersey Health Collaborative (www.njhealthmatters.org). Our primary goals are to design and evaluate community-based interventions, conduct the Community Health Needs Assessments, collect and analyze population health data, and support research initiatives. Our team environment is collaborative – it’s typical that a project touches many hands before it is finalized. We need someone who knows how to take both input and initiative, be a team-player AND a project leader at once.
- Master’s degree or higher in Public Health, Community Psychology, Social Work, Epidemiology, Program Evaluation or a related field
- Experience designing public health interventions and providing value-added research and program evaluation services (specific experience with CBPR processes a plus).
- Strong Quantitative Skillset: proficiency in SPSS (or other major statistical packages) and MS Excel, along with ability to work with large datasets
- Demonstrated history of working collaboratively with a diverse set of community partners and stakeholders
- Direct project management experience
At Atlantic Health System, we strive for an inclusive health care environment where patients, visitors and employees are welcomed and afforded the same high quality care and experience regardless of sexual orientation, gender, gender identity, race, ethnicity, immigration status, socioeconomic background, disability and age. All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, disability or protected veteran status.
