The School of Nursing in the College of Health and Social Services at New Mexico State University (NMSU) is seeking a creative and dynamic nursing professional to serve as its Director. In a medically underserved state, NMSU’s School of Nursing meets an essential need in the community and student placement after graduation is 100%. The BSN program is extremely popular with over 800 pre-nursing students competing for approximately 48 admission slots per semester. The graduate programs offer competitive admission for its DNP in Family Psych/Mental Nurse Practitioner and Family Nurse Practitioner Programs as well as the PhD.
The Director will represent the School to educational, clinical, research, donors, and policy partners. Addition-ally, the Director will enhance the academic, research, and operational performance of the accredited nursing program; and by helping develop NMSU’s strategic partnerships, will continue to raise the profile of the School to be an international leader in the advancement of nursing science, education, practice, and policy. Must have the ability to foster programmatic growth through innovation, collaboration, and technology development. Must be able to coordinate the ongoing mentor model under which faculty develop their areas of inter-est, expertise, and development of leadership opportunities. Expectations include continued full compliance with the New Mexico State Board of Nursing, the Certified Nurse Practitioner (CNP) regulations, and Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) accreditation requirements, and a 100% passing rate for the NCLEX exam for BSN students.
The School supports distance programs for the BSN degree at extended campuses and all graduate programs (MSN, DNP and PhD) are web-based.
