Job Description: The Adoption Program Coordinator will oversee operations for the agency including assignment of casework to a team of approximately 8 part-time social workers, a part-time Expectant Parent Coordinator and Office Manager as well as providing direct services as appropriate. The Adoption Program Coordinator will delegate or respond directly to time sensitive matters as they arise after hours. The Adoption Program Coordinator will be responsible for orienting prospective adoptive parents to the agency’s program and overseeing prospective adoptive parents’ processes from application to finalization. This professional would speak and participate in adoption- related conferences for the purpose of providing information and education to families.
The Adoption Program Coordinator shall share in oversight of the agency’s various administrative responsibilities. Applicants should have experience and a good working knowledge of domestic and international adoption. The successful applicants will have excellent writing skills, a balanced approach to work and delegating, a keen business mind, nuanced clinical skills and superb clinical/legal judgment. The Program Coordinator should be well versed in the key legal and clinical issues in adoption. The Adoption Program Coordinator will, with the help of the Expectant Parent Coordinator and Office Manager, oversee preparation for and the process of re-licensing and re-accreditation as well as participate in Board development and Board meetings.

This position is envisioned as a full-time position, but, the agency is open to considering a substantial part time structure as well. The Program Coordinator will be expected to respond to time-sensitive matters after hours, as needed. Compensation commensurate with experience together with standard vacation/holidays. Depending upon the interests of the ideal candidate, the locus of the Adoption Program Coordinator’s work might be in Northampton or Arlington, Massachusetts so applicants willing to live/work in these two areas are encouraged to apply.
