Assistant/Associate/Full Professor of Healthcare Administration
The MS in Healthcare Administration (MSHA) program, based in the Department of Management in the College of Business at the University of New Haven is seeking to hire a full time tenured/tenure-track faculty member. Rank and AOS is open. This is a position to be filled for Fall 2017.
The MS in Healthcare Administration (MSHA) program was founded at the University of New Haven more than 20 years ago and is one of the largest on-ground healthcare administration programs in the US. The MSHA program has strong relationships with multiple health systems in the New Haven area and teaches a corporate program at the Yale-New Haven Health System. Its mission is to provide competency-based graduate level healthcare management education to prepare students for early- to mid-level management positions in the global healthcare workforce.
Our vision is to become nationally ranked among healthcare administration graduate programs and to be recognized as a program of choice for our students and among our alumni and prospective employers. The program has 5 full-time and 12 adjunct faculty teaching in the program. We have strong history of quality internships and job placements with over 800 program alumni at work in a wide range of institutions around the country and internationally. With a new healthcare professions department across the university, University of New Haven is also ideally positioned to grow in the areas of healthcare data analytics and the health sciences. The program is seeking a colleague qualified to teach graduate-level healthcare administration courses. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated knowledge of and ability to teach in one of the 5 core domains of healthcare management.
• Faculty are expected to teach six courses per year at the graduate level
• Assist Program Director with building industry relationships and internship offerings
• Advise and mentor graduate students in the MSHA program
• Serve on departmental, college and university level committees
Candidates must have an earned doctorate in healthcare management, health services management, public health, health information technology, health informatics or a related field. Employment is contingent upon successfully passing a background investigation. The hiring salary for this position is dependent upon qualifications and departmental equity.
• Teaching experience in healthcare administration at the graduate level
• Experience teaching professional students in hybrid, online, or cohort learning environments
• Active membership in AUPHA, ACHE, APHA, HIMSS or other relevant professional societies
