The School of Health Studies in the College of Health and Human Sciences at Northern Illinois University invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position at the assistant professor level in its Public Health and Health Education Programs anticipated to begin August 2017.
The position will involve undergraduate and graduate teaching to a diverse student population, online and face-to-face course delivery, the development of an ongoing program of externally funded research, university and professional service, and student advising.
The public health program offers a B.S. in public health with emphases in health administration, environment and health, health promotion, and general public health, and an M.P.H. degree with specializations in health promotion and health services management. The MPH program is accredited by the Council on Education for Public Health.
The successful candidate will have a Ph.D. in health services management, health administration, health services research, and an M.P.H., or relevant master’s degree; evidence of ability to publish peer-reviewed research and experience with external funding.
Candidates with strong quantitative skills; experience teaching health care finance, successful university-level teaching experience; experience developing and teaching online courses; proven ability to conduct research, publish results, and secure external funding will be given preference. Relevant professional work experience is also desirable.
