The successful candidate will be responsible for the development, quality management and execution of the delivery of high quality clinical care and services across all sites, current and future, consistent with all applicable rules and regulations as well as with Parker Home’s Mission and Vision. This will include the management and standards for all clinical services, the planning, policy development, and procedural review of clinical protocols, as applicable to each residence and program, the assurance of the clinical nursing programs being reflective of best practices and person-centered care, and the oversight of consultant and external services and resources.
This highly visible position will be filled by an individual with exceptional clinical skills/knowledge (including infection control, quality improvement), high drive and energy, excellent Leadership and Thought Leadership skills, and past experience in a variety of aging service settings. Also important are strong written and verbal communication skills and demonstrated commitment to an interdisciplinary team approach.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Coordinates and approves the development and ongoing execution and delivery of the organization’s clinical services: Clinical Practices/Protocols/Policies Infection Control MDS Standards (nursing home) Assessments (assisted living) Contracts Medical Records/Clinical Information Systems Licensed Independent Practitioner Credentialing Quality Assurance & Process Improvement Clinical Education
Reviews and ensures that nursing policies/procedures are maintained and updated annually or as necessary in accordance with best practices, regulatory requirements or the Home’s standards.
• Plans, develops and coordinates clinical program activities such as Immunizations and organization-wide initiatives.
•Establishes linkages with agencies which are or may be a source for nursing materials and resources.
•Develops communication with associations and groups regarding formulation and implementation of the clinical nursing program, quality improvement, proposals, and nursing protocols.
•Collaborates with the clinical educator to set up training for RN’s and LPN’s as required by organization requirements and / or in accordance with licensing, certification, and regulatory agencies.
•Plans, develops and operationalizes/integrates Parker clinical services into new aging services and programs that ensure portability of culture and standards.
•Provides clinical guidance, coaching, and development opportunities to Directors of Nursing Services to successfully deliver superior quality outcomes and lead high performing Nursing Services teams.
•Collaborates with the Directors of Nursing and Administrators regarding care management and problem-solving to effectively manage risk to the Residents, employees and organization.
•Supports the organization’s overall strategy, including planning and thought leadership.
•Performs routine site visits to all licensed entities of Parker to evaluate the quality of services provided and resident/Participant/family satisfaction.
•Collaborates with organization Directors and Administrators to conduct “mock” compliance surveys at each licensed site/program.
•Assists in coordinating action plans to minimize liability and risks as a result of compliance surveys.
•Monitors Quality Assurance and Process Improvement initiatives and metrics, overseeing the Directors of Nursing in such and reporting trends to the Directors of Quality Assurance and Process Improvement.
•Coordinates and facilitates case management review/clinical care meetings (strategic/functional) to assure that the clinical teams are functioning in accordance with policies, procedures, and program requirements.
•Assists the Administrators in communicating with the Medical Directors and/or individual physicians, as needed and in a timely manner, to assure that Residents receive complete services in accordance with their own individual care plans.
•Provides supervision, training and guidance to all Clinical Leaders and related staff.
