The Cincinnati VA Healthcare System, Cincinnati, OH, is recruiting for a Physician - Staff Pathologist, serving as our fifth in-house Staff Pathologist for the Pathology & Laboratory Medicine Service. Incumbent is a, Pathologist, Board Certified/Board Eligiblein Anatomic and Clinical Pathology, at the Cincinnati VAHCS.
Staff Pathologists provide coverage as needed during the entire period 24 hours per day 7 days per week. This will be accomplished by being available by telephone in addition to the hours actually spent at the Medical Center. Pathology coverage for VHACIN encompasses general surgical and clinical pathology will maintainfocus on clinical pathology including SPEPSs, UPEPs, body fluid examination and, transfusion medicine.Responsibilities willalso includebone marrows and frozen sections performed at the Cincinnati VAHCS. In addition,we also oversee Chillicothe VA Path and Lab. Incumbent will possiblybe overseeing the day to day operation of the Chillicothe lab as a Lab Director.
Work Schedule: 8:00am-4:30pm , Monday through Friday, Working on weekends and holidays is not usually required, but may be necessary.

- Degree of doctor of medicine or an equivalent degree resulting from a course of education in medicine or osteopathic medicine.
- Current, full and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States, or in the District of Columbia.
Preferred Experience: The Department of Pathology at Cincinnati VAMC is in the process of expanding their sub-specialty services and seeking a full-time Board Eligible/Board Certified Anatomic and Clinical Pathologist. Subspecialty fellowship training in Hematopathology,Transfusion Medicine is preferred. An additional area of expertise (ideally Dermatopathology, GI Pathology or GU Pathology) is highly desirable. All current fellows trained in AP/CP that have recently completed their sub-specialty training program would be considered.
