Candidates must have a Ph.D. in chemistry or a related analytical laboratory field from an accredited university and proven expertise in the applications of gas and/or liquid chromatography and mass spectroscopy detection (GC-MS and UPLC-MS/MS). Experience with elemental methods such as atomic absorption spectroscopy or ICP-MS is desirable. He/she needs proven experience in both qualitative and quantitative analysis. Candidates must have experience in laboratory-scale manufacturing of reference products, including development of process development and testing protocols. Candidates must be knowledgeable about and have experience with Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) policies on chemical safety. Candidates should have peer-reviewed publications in the field of analytical chemistry, particularly in the development of new analytical methods. Preferred candidates will have a record of peer-reviewed funding. The preferred candidate also would have experience in the laboratory testing of nicotine yields, toxicant yields, impurities, solvents, particle size, etc. of various tobacco products, modified-risk tobacco products (MRTP), and nicotine-containing formulations, including electronic cigarettes. Preferred candidates would have the ability to prepare documentation for new nicotine-containing products, including the preparation of formulas for costing purposes, ingredient listings for regulatory bodies, Safety Data Sheets (SDS), and documentation for the production of reference products.
