The CHOC Children’s Specialists is seeking a Pediatric Oncologist to lead our well-established division of Oncology. This is a busy Oncology service with enormous potential for professional growth and fulfillment. The practice serves a population base in excess of 3,500,000 people. This position leads a team of 11 board certified pediatric oncologists and 10 nurse practitioners in offering a wide range of pediatric oncology services, providing expert, innovative and compassionate care for infants, children, adolescents and young adults.
The Oncology Division directs the Hyundai Cancer Institute at CHOC Children’s which is one of kind pediatric cancer programs in the country with a dedicated program for teens and young adults. The Hyundai Cancer Institute also provides treatment of bone and soft tissue sarcoma, solid tumor, histiocytosis, neuro-oncology, lymphoma, leukemia, recurrent and refractory cancers, blood and marrow transplant and after-cancer survivorship. The Hyundai Institute at CHOC Children’s is one of 10 founding members of a national pediatrics cancer consortium.
Clinical and translational research is encouraged. Opportunities to teach include an excellent pediatric residency and fellowship training program with the University of California, Irvine.
Minimum qualifications include: Certification by the American Board of Pediatric Hematology/Oncology, and eligible for a CA medical license. Previous leadership of a Hematology/Oncology Division or Program with successful development of clinical, educational, and research programs. Academic and/or leadership accomplishments at Associate Professor or higher level.
