The Telehealth Service at the Boise VA Medical Center is recruiting for a Licensed Practical Nurse (Telehealth Clinical Technician), LPN (TCT), vacancies at the Boise Medical Center and Twin Falls Community Based Outpatient Clinic (CBOC).

The Telehealth Clinical Technician (TCT) is a full performance LPN/LVN that serves in a clincial or generalist role to support Telehealth clinical programs from the patient or provider location. Specific duties include:
? Performs telehealth imaging, including teleretinal screening, teledermatology and telewound care, as identified and referred by the VA provider.
? Initiates consultations for patients on behalf of the provider, who retains responsibility for patient care.
? Triages patient phone calls and other patient communications.
? Obtains abbreviated patient medical histories relevant to the examination being performed.
? Successfully completes all training programs for imagers.
? Serves as patient site clinical coordinator and is essential for the clinical aspects of the intervention and should be part of the clinic team, available for all telehealth visits.
? Provides basic information to patients regarding telehealth process and may also provide disease specific patient education.
? Secures patients' confidence and cooperation during procedures.
? Has regular contact with the Facility Telehealth Coordinator (FTC) to work out any process issues, equipment needs, problems, data collection, and any other logistical issues.
? Opens telehealth patient room, readies the equipment for exams and establishes the video conference connection with the provider's location.
? Incumbent must set up and be responsible for the use of Reusable Medical Euqipment (RME) as applicable for all equipment for which they have been trained.
? Performs personal care, diagnostic support duties, and treatments according to procedure under the general, and possibly remote, direction of the supervisor in a timely manner.
The Licensed Practical Nurse duties include:
The LPN supports the Medical Centers goals through participation, continuing education and adhering to the LPN scope of practice. The LPN must be able to demonstrate the ability to adapt to ever changing and unpredictable situations within the clinical setting. The LPN must be competent in computerized charting. Strong Computer skills preferred. Must be able to demonstrate oral and written communication effectively with patients, professional staff and others using positive communication strategies. Candidate must possess the ability to accept direction from multiple sources, prioritize tasks and remain adaptable to change in both the work environment and assigned work load. Functions well in a fast paced, multiple distraction environment.

Schedule: Tour of Duty may vary; M-F 8 Hour Tours e.g. 8:00-4:30 p.m.
