Kingwood Pines Hospital is seeking a dynamic and talented Mental Health Technician. The Mental Health Technician assists the registered nurse in providing direct patient care to psychiatric, chemical dependency patients; to insure safety and provide milieu management including crisis intervention. Key Responsibilities Include: - To provide direct patient care under the supervision of a registered nurse.
- To recognize signs and symptoms of chemical dependency disorders and apply/utilize appropriate treatment interventions.
- To recognize signs and symptoms of mental health disorders and apply/utilize appropriate treatment interventions.
- To insure patient safety.
- To assist with milieu management.
- To respond to crisis intervention.
- To document patient care, implementation of the treatment plan and patient’s response.
- Utilizes therapeutic communication skills and maintains professional boundaries with patients and their families.
- Demonstrate initiative in maintaining a clean and safe environment for the welfare of patients and coworkers.
