The University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) College of Medicine - Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation is seeking two outstanding faculty members who are interested in starting/continuing a career in academic physiatry. Positions available are in:
Both positions would be based at the Baptist Health Rehabilitation Institute (our affiliated partner) for inpatient, and the UAMS Medical Center clinics (for outpatient). Outpatient care could include follow-up of discharged inpatients and/or neuro-rehabilitation or musculoskeletal medicine clinics. Interest in EMG would be a bonus, but is not required. If interested, collaborative interdisciplinary or research opportunities and support are available within our dynamic medical center. The successful candidate will have strong clinical and interpersonal skills, a commitment to academic physiatry, including resident and medical student teaching, and scholarship. Fellowship training or expertise in a subspecialty area is highly desirable for the subspecialty physiatry position. Little Rock, the state capital of Arkansas, has a below average cost of living and a population of 198,000 with over 750,000 residents in the greater Little Rock metropolitan area. Average temperature is 81 degrees in summer and 39 degrees in winter. The city offers a variety of cultural attractions and many state and national parks within a 60-mile radius of Little Rock provide an excellent outdoor recreation experience.
