Wake Forest School of Medicine is seeking a national leader as our new Chair of the Department of Epidemiology & Prevention. In collaboration with departmental faculty and division and medical school leadership, the Chair will serve as the key leader responsible for the quality and growth of departmental academic and research programs as the medical school enters a period of unprecedented growth opportunities.
Wake Forest’s Department of Epidemiology & Prevention is part of our Division of Public Health Sciences which also includes the departments of Biostatistics and Data Sciences, Implementation Science, and Social Sciences and Health Policy. Established in 1989, the division consistently ranks in the top 10 for National Institutes of Health funding among national academic medical center peer groups. In the past decade alone, the division has helped generate nearly $500 million of Wake Forest Baptist’s research funding while playing a vital role in some of the nation’s most significant research studies and health care discoveries, and has earned a national reputation for successfully designing and leading clinical trials and serving as a coordinating center for large, multisite studies.
