| JOB TITLE: Flex Printer Trainee LOCATION: Geisinger Bloomsburg II South DEPARTMENT: Digital Print & Mail Center WORK SCHEDULE: Evenings WORK TYPE: Flex JOB SUMMARY: Utilizes a training period at the Digital Print and Mail Center to learn the operation of all print and mail related equipment and processes. Reports directly to the Production Supervisor. COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS: Demonstrates the ability to communicate effectively and perform arithmetic calculations. Demonstrates the ability to make decisions on the fly and change priorities when necessary to meet customer needs is an expected part of the printing business. Demonstrates the ability to be a team player and a willingness to learn all aspects of the job are required. EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: High school diploma or equivalent required. A background in printing, publishing, graphic arts, mail processing, excellent communication skills and an understanding of both offset and digital printing processes is preferred. May require up to 12 months of on the job experience to become familiar with all job duties. Valid Pa driver's license WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Requires frequent exposure to print shop machine noise, toner/ink and changes in room temperature. May be exposed to frequent paper cuts from the handling of paper and opening of boxes. May require periodic overtime on nights and weekends, including off-hour emergency response. May travel between buildings to make deliveries Dealing with tight deadlines and quick turnaround times may impose high stress levels. Some physical effort is required which may involve long periods of standing, walking, bending, reaching, stretching, climbing or similar activities as well as lifting or moving items weighing up to 50lbs. and in pushing or pulling machines on wheels, which may weigh up to 700 lbs., in order to move for repairs.
