Assistant/Associate Professor of Epidemiology

The Oregon Health & Science University-Portland State University (OHSU-PSU) School of Public Health is seeking applicants for two full-time faculty positions in epidemiology at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor. Candidates with a PhD or equivalent degree in epidemiology or related discipline are encouraged to apply. The OHSU-PSU SPH offers research strengths in the areas of maternal and reproductive health, social epidemiology and health inequities, sexual/gender minority health, and substance use disorders. We seek candidates to expand expertise in the areas of environmental epidemiology; maternal, reproductive, and child health; cancer epidemiology; and/or causal inference methods. Responsibilities: Developing a research program within the SPH, collaborating across OHSU and the SPH, publishing scholarly work in peer-reviewed journals, and obtaining federal grant funding to support research activities. Teach at the masters and doctorate level within the SPH and to provide mentoring to students. Forge research relationships that advance the strategic goals of SPH, and engage in collegial and service activities in support of the SPH mission. Qualifications: Candidates must have an earned doctorate in epidemiology or a related discipline by the position start date, a record of peer reviewed publications, and experience or interest with teaching graduate-level courses in epidemiology methods or substantive topic areas. Candidates for the Assistant Professor position must demonstrate potential for obtaining external research funding. Candidates for the Associate Professor position must demonstrate a history obtaining of external research funding. Each position is a 12-month, full-time faculty position based at OHSU with an anticipated start date in September 2020.
