The mission of the school is to promote public health policies to improve the health of populations. SPH faculty members are recognized leaders in health policy, community health interventions, environmental and occupational health, nutrition, epidemiology and biostatistics, and public health informatics, among other areas. Faculty and students are actively engaged in promoting healthy cities in a healthy world. The SPH is located in a new vertical campus in the heart of Harlem in New York City. The department of Environmental, Occupational and Geospatial Health Sciences (EOGHS) goal is to identify, explain and mitigate the impact of natural, social, built, food and occupational environments on the health and well-being of populations. The department is part of the New York - New Jersey Occupational Safety and Health Center, a NIOSH sponsored ERC and provides training in Industrial Hygiene. We are seeking a tenured or tenure-track faculty in the Department of EOGHS to teach, strengthen and develop graduate-level training programs. We are seeking a candidate with a background in occupational health and safety, preferably with expertise in industrial hygiene or similar field of study. The candidate should be prepared to mentor graduate students, publish high impact research and seek extramural funding with multi-disciplinary research teams. EOGHS faculty are expected to participate in Department, School and University events and committees. Successful candidates will have the benefit of the collaborations and opportunities afforded by the extensive CUNY system, the NY/NJ NIOSH ERC, and the CUNY Advanced Science Research Center.
