JFK Memorial Hospital has provided medical care to residents in the Coachella Valley since 1966. A group of physicians, including Dr. Reynaldo Carreon, founded the hospital and today one of JFK�s cross streets is named in his honor. Originally called Indio Community Hospital, JFK has grown to a 145-bed acute-care hospital that is part of Tenet Healthcare California. Position Overview:

• The Emergency Department Nursing Assistant is assists with the direct care of emergency department patients under the supervision of a licensed nurse and performs other essential non-direct patient duties.
• The Nursing Assistant assists the nurse with vital signs and weights, collects specimens, performs CPR and assists the nursing staff as delegated.
• The Nursing Assistant additionally transports patients via wheelchair or gurney and provides safety and comfort for patients and their families.
• The Nursing Assistant uses effective verbal and written skills to communicate with people on all levels, and is able to maintain positive working relationships with patients, families, co-workers, and physicians.
• The Nursing Assistant additionally may, under the supervision of an RN, serve as a patient sitter, maintaining constant direct observation and visualization of identified patient(s).
• The Nursing Assistant will follow the criteria and standards established for acting as a sitter.
• Greets patients and visitors in person or on the telephone, obtains demographic and medical information for registration and identification.
• Fosters a supportive environment and promotes customer service by assisting with JFK�s goals in obtaining 100 percent satisfaction rates among our most important constituents.

• CPR
• Certified Nursing Assistance Certificate or Equivalent at Time of Hire
• Previous Hospital Experience - preferred
• Basic Computer Skills
• Spanish Speaking - preferred
• Healthy Interventions Training within Six (6) Months of Hire
