| JOB DESCRIPTION: Patient Access Representative LOCATION: Danville DEPARTMENT: Cardiology WORK SCHEDULE: Days WORK TYPE: Part Time JOB SUMMARY: Provides front line office support for the Cardiology Clinic. Coordinates and performs front line office activities in an effective and efficient manner for the department. Directly accountable to the Cardiovascular Clinic Nurse RN Supervisor COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS: Demonstrates competence in written, oral, and electronic communication skills (intermediate typing, keyboarding, and computer skills). Demonstrates advanced knowledge of medical terminology, insurance referral and pre-certification processes, coding, EPIC applications, IDX, and SMS. Demonstrates office skills (proficient at electronic scanning). Demonstrates ability to work independently, set priorities, multi-task, and provide problem resolution. Demonstrates Excellent customer service skills EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: High School Diploma or GED required. Minimum of 1 year Related work experience preferred. Successful completion of Key Access Personnel (KAP) training during orientation period. WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Work is typically performed in an office environment.
