| JOB TITLE: Stationary Engineer LOCATION: Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center DEPARTMENT: Facilities Operations WORK SCHEDULE: Days. Monday to Friday, 7a to 3:30p. WORK TYPE: Full-time JOB SUMMARY: Maintains and monitors the operation of steam generating boilers, water treatment, distribution systems and maintains and operates the ChemClav to meet Medical Center needs and regulatory requirements.
Performs duties to support the goals and objectives of the Medical Center in its efforts to provide quality patient care and patient satisfaction.
Works under the supervision of the Lead Stationary Engineer and Manager, Facilities Operations. COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS: Demonstrates ability to read, communicate effectively, perform mathematical calculations, understand meters and graphs and have knowledge of ASME codes plus OSHA and EPA regulations.
Demonstrates formal training or understanding of hydraulic, mechanical, electrical and pneumatic systems to determine proper operations of the equipment with the ability to perform basic repairs. EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: Minimum two years experience in boiler operation and water treatment required.
Understanding of combustion systems, basic steam producing principles and water chemistry required.
Current valid PA driver's license required.
Minimum six weeks on the job training for chem/clav and powerhouse operations required.
Completion of training on universal precautions before starting work required.
