JOB TITLE: Administrative Assistant LOCATION: Geisinger Holy Spirit Hospital DEPARTMENT: Nursing Administration WORK SCHEDULE: Days WORK TYPE: Full Time
JOB SUMMARY: Responsible for providing administrative support to the Department of Nursing Services at Geisinger Holy Spirit. Responsible for implementation of all payroll duties while providing backup with scheduling and staffing responsibilities. Responsible for ensuring the very best patient/family experience by optimizing all customer interaction. Foster a positive work environment through mutual support and cooperation and adheres to GHS and unit specific Service Standards. Reports directly to the Associate Vice President of Nursing Services. COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS: Demonstrates advanced administrative skills with extensive computer experience required with Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel, and GroupWise. Demonstrates organizational skills and interpersonal skills (organizational effectiveness competencies). Demonstrates competence in written, oral and electronic communication skills (interpersonal/communication and technological effectiveness competencies). Demonstrates ability to work and make decisions independently. Demonstrates knowledge of staffing/scheduling practices, Lawson payroll system, Human Resources policies and procedures and collective bargaining agreement. Demonstrates ability to set priorities and support multiple projects through time management. Demonstrates strong customer service attitude. Demonstrates self-motivation. Demonstrates ability to work within a team. EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: Associates Degree in business, secretarial or related field preferred. Minimum of 2-3 years equivalent experience required. Minimum one year Lawson and Ansos experience preferred. WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Work is typically performed in an office environment.
