Chair, Department of Anesthesiology University of Oklahoma College of Medicine Dynamic, results-oriented individuals are invited to apply for the position of Chair of the Department of Anesthesiology at the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine. This is an exciting opportunity to lead the ongoing growth of an excellent department at the state's only comprehensive academic health center. The Chair of the Department of Anesthesiology reports directly to the Executive Dean of the College of Medicine and will work closely with administrative officers of OU Medicine, Inc. and OU Physicians. The Chair will lead the department with overall responsibility for continued faculty growth and development to assure the highest quality anesthesia services, advancing medical student education and GME, and for growing the academic missions of the department at the local and national levels. The successful candidate will be an M.D. or M.D./Ph.D. who is Board Certified by the American Board of Anesthesiology and must be eligible for permanent, unrestricted licensure in the state of Oklahoma. Applicants must possess the leadership and academic accomplishments that would qualify them for appointment at the Associate Professor or Professor level at the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine. The committee is seeking individuals with successful experience in the following: academic leadership and mentoring; diversity oriented faculty selection; clinical and teaching skills; organizational leadership; clinical research with the ability to foster appropriate advancement of research faculty and activities in the department.
