Receives and processes all telephone and computer requisitions and special food requests received in the Nutrition Care diet office. Functions as a communication link between customers as well as the patient care area and the food service department.

Schedule will vary, every other weekend is required.

• Nutrition Services Associates will work in our diet offices, contacting and communicating with our patients and nurses.
• Will gain a thorough understainding of our menu and specialized diets, to help guide patients in their meal ordering process.
• Work with nursing to accomodate nutrition services requests throughout their shift.
• Work with computer systems and menu software daily
• Will track multiple data sets and completes daily adminstrative tasks
• Maintains knowledge of, and complies with, all relevant laws, regulations and policies, procedures and standards
• Communicates with patients about dietary guidelines and assists patients with ordering
• Actively participates in creating and implementing improvements to achieve clinical, satisfaction and/or efficiency outcome
• Practices proper infection control methods including hand-washing, personal hygiene and infection control policies

Required Qualifications:

• High school graduate or equivalent
• Understanding of modified diets

Preferred Qualifications:

• 1 year health care food service experience preferred
