(TRA) is hiring Constant Observer's / Patient Siiter's for the Detroit Regional Float Pool.
Rate: $16.00 an hour - must meet all requirements, must float between all hospitals and units.
Under the direction of the Registered or Licensed Practical Nurse, is responsible for observing the patient and reporting observations to the RN/LPN to protect the patient from injury or harm to themselves or others and to prevent elopement.
Remain at patient bedside at all times.
Remove visible hazards and/or potentially unsafe equipment from the immediate environment. Report unsafe/broken equipment or conditions to immediate supervisor.
Accompany patient to procedures/tests/therapy as needed.
Promptly refer to supervising RN any signs or symptoms that may indicate a change in patient�s condition.
Assist in calming or reorienting patient in cases of agitation or confusion.
Communicate in a positive professional manner; develops and asks questions which open up the dialogue. Provide clear, direct and specific instructions or information to others. Listen with patience and empathy.
Observe and respect of patient�s right to privacy.
Maintain quiet environment.
Adhere to professional conduct/dress.
Maintain orderliness of patient rooms.
Assists patient with basic activities of daily living, i.e. hygiene, oral care, oral intake (unless directed to do otherwise).
Provides for mobility i.e. ambulating, up to chair, range of motion and turning.
Assists others with patient's care.
Qualifications:
MUST HAVE:
-High School diploma or GED
-BLS/CPR from American Heart Association
-1 year patient care setting or
Enrollment in a professional nursing school with completion of fundamentals of nursing (lecture and clinical), and currently in first year of clinical rotation
