Position Summary
The Program Associate will support the general programmatic functions of PCORI’s Research Synthesis and New Technology (RSNT) team. Specifically, the Program Associate will assist the Senior Clinical Advisor and the Senior Program Officer, New Technology. The Program Associate will assist the Senior Program Officer with oversight of New Technology projects, including the Health Care Horizon Scanning System and Emerging Technology and Therapeutics Reports. Additionally, the Program Associate will assist with projects of the Senior Clinical Advisor, such as oversight of Economic Impact projects and general operations of the RSNT program. This work includes tasks such as assisting with the preparation for and development of statements of work for procurement of new projects in the above areas, working with the Senior Program Officer and Senior Clinical Advisor to oversee procurement activities, monitoring timelines, and reviewing deliverables. The Project Associate will handle tasks with increasing levels of responsibility, solving practical problems and dealing with a variety of variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
Duties and Responsibilities
The primary responsibilities include:
- Supports the Senior Program Officer, New Technology with operations of the Health Care Horizon Scanning System, including working with contractors to ensure timely and high-quality deliverables, working with procurement officers to ensure contract needs are met, assisting the Senior Program Officer with monitoring potential topics and obtaining program feedback to ensure that the program meets PCORI and stakeholder needs.
- Supports the Senior Program Officer, New Technology with operations of the Emerging Technology and Therapeutics Reports, including scanning for new topics, working with stakeholders to refine topics, conducting literature searches and overviews of relevant background literature research to craft a scope of work for procurement, monitoring contract timeline and deliverables, and reviewing deliverables.
- Supports the Senior Clinical Advisor with oversight of Economic Impact Projects, including working with procurement as necessary for new or current work, monitoring timelines and reviewing deliverables.
- Assist with general Research Synthesis and New Technology functions, such as scheduling meetings, working with the Senior Clinical Advisor on budgets and other activities, and developing presentations and materials for internal and external presentations and activities.
- Works in groups on PCORI cross-cutting initiatives in support of PCORI-wide activities, for example, supporting PCORI-wide workgroups on National Priority Research Topics.
