Senior Social Worker (Suicide Prevention Coordinator)
The Suicide Prevention Coordinator (SPC) is responsible for the development of activities that include support for the identification of Veterans that are high risk of suicide. The SPC provides education to clinicians and non-clinicians on how to identify a Veteran that is suicidal. Functions as a member of a multidisciplinary team including Psychiatrists, Psychologists, Social Workers and Addiction Therapists to provide services for Veterans, their families and members of the community. The duties of the Senior Social Worker (Suicide Prevention Coordinator) incudes but is not limited to: Develops a mechanism for tracking all suicide attempts and patients with serious suicidal ideation.
