This position is in the Nutrition and Food Service at the VA New Jersey Health Care System. The incumbent may be assigned to perform food service activities in the Food Service Unit, the Food Production Unit, Vegetable Preparation Unit, CLC's Short Order Food Service Program, or Palliative Care Modified breakfast Service, and may be asked to work at either the East Orange or Lyons campus. Duties will include, but may not be limited to the following: Uses proper cleaning solutions to sanitize food preparation surfaces. Cleans walk-in refrigerators and freezers in a food service or food handling organization. Handles and storing sanitized dishes, glasses and silverware for public use. Makes sandwiches using prepared ingredients for cafeteria or buffet lines.
