The incumbent is directly accountable to the Chemistry Supervisor, Pathology and Laboratory Medicine Service. Incumbent facilitates team or unit processes by working in collaboration with team members to ensure that tasks, priorities, goals and achievements are coordinated with management. Monitor chemistry inventory and oversee ordering of chemistry supplies Perform 6-month chemistry studies to include linearity, method comparison, carryover, accuracy and precision, dilutor checks, pipette cleaning & calibrations, and water checks. Perform Daily QC review and prepare monthly QC reports for Chemistry Supervisor Serve as primary operator on new test systems and assumes responsibility to maintain operatives including training of department staff Perform instrument troubleshooting and coordinate service when required Order and assign proficiency testing surveys as they arrive and ensure their completion for submission via QA Technologist. Assist chemistry supervisor in reviewing and updating forms and standard operating procedures for clinical chemistry and general laboratory functions Accession and label samples and subsamples, records data accurately in logs and worksheets with extreme attention to ID verification and accurate manual recording, where applicable. Additionally, ensure other technologists adhere to these same guidelines and procedures. Perform preventive maintenance requirements for many instruments and testing systems. Responsible for resolving procedural, reagent, and equipment problems according to written procedures, verbal instructions, and previous experience. Knowledge of mathematics and statistics as related to quality control, quality assurance, proficiency testing, inspection and accreditation, and continuous quality improvement.
