Position Summary: We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Associate Director of Communication and Outreach - AEGD Dentistry.
In this role, the successful candidate The Associate Director of Communication and Outreach is responsible for the planning, implementation, and management of all aspects of recruiting, alumni/community relations, and marketing oversight for NYU Langone Dental Medicine Postdoctoral Residency Programs (NYU Langone Dental Medicine). The position reports to the Director of Graduate Dental Education and supports the recruiting, marketing, and alumni and community relations activities for NYU Langone Dental Medicine residents, faculty/staff, alumni, and friends. The Associate Director will work with NYU Langone Dental Medicine leadership, NYU Langone Health support services (marketing, development, IT, legal, etc), Dental Medicine Family Health Centers at NYU Langone, and health center partners. He/she will serve as an active member of the Graduate Dental Education and Recruitment Teams and participate in strategy and planning contributing ideas and counsel as it relates to alumni/community relations, marketing, recruitment, and corporate fundraising for graduation, faculty development, and continuing education initiatives.
Focus on the following primary objectives:
To strengthen existing relations between NYU Langone Dental Medicine alumni, faculty, staff, health center, and corporate partners
Establish strong relationships with dental school and national dental organizations to help market our programs
Drive AEGD applicants to apply to multiple locations
Raise awareness of NYU Langone Dental Medicine via brand marketing, social media, web presence, dental school, professional organization and national events, and one-on-one meetings with constituents
Establish engagement opportunities for NYU Langone Dental Medicine residents, faculty, and alumni
Increase engagement and secure funding from corporate partners
Create a climate for success by removing barriers and providing support to NYU Langone Dental Medicine Postdoctoral Residency Programs and Dental MedicineFamily Health Centers at NYU Langone
With latitude for independent judgment, responsibilities include but are not limited to:
In conjunction with program leadership, develop a recruitment plan, track progress, and evaluate successes
Travel nationally to identify and recruit new residents, faculty, and health center partners
Develop a keen understanding and awareness of graduate dental education programs in order to effectively market and recruit students based on regular program needs assessment
Work with the American Student Dental Association (ASDA) student leaders and/or school administrative staff to maximize participation and effectiveness of national and regional events
Establish dental school and national dental organization liaisons to assist in sharing communications, re. open positions and event details with prospective applicants
Publicize and market program strengths, faculty awards and honors, and presentations and publications
Plan and implement events for recruitment, cultivation, recognition, continuing dental education, social and networking opportunities
Develop and implement an alumni engagement plan for all programs
Strengthen brand and educate constituents via social media and Web
Serve as editor and writer for program publications, social media posts and Website content; annual review of marketing communications and Web
Utilize Salesforce database to track and evaluate outreach efforts; survey constituents, and analyze data for strategic growth opportunities
Responsible for goal setting, progress review and evaluation, and budget tracking
Oversee Information Line communications to address constituent inquiries related to application, job postings, resident verifications, and alumni questions
Will nurture relationships by encouraging feedback, strong communications, a positive attitude and teamwork
Increase engagement opportunities and secure funding from corporate partners for graduation, faculty development, and continuing education
To qualify you must have a Bachelors Degree in business administration, health care administration, marketing, communications or related
Minimum of 2 years of experience in alumni and client focused engagement, communications, recruitment, and/or outreach
Proficiency in using various Microsoft Office Applications
Ability to interface effectively with all levels of management and must work and communicate effectively with both internal and external customers
Excellent multitasking and organizational skills, and the ability to work both independently and with a team
Personable, good at building relationships
Experience in and excellent results in growing audience and engagements
Experience with various social media channels, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, etc. and how each outreach strategies differ by platform
Understanding of emerging technologies and how they can be leveraged for growth
Experience with email and social media marketing in a consumer environment coordination
Qualified candidates must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.
