Cardiopulmonary Services at the University of Minnesota Masonic Childrens hospital is a dynamic, growing department with approximately 50 staff members. As part of a large, integrated, academic healthcare system, the Respiratory Therapist has an integral and dynamic role in the care of children. We believe families are the child's primary strength and support and are key partners in the care team and are committed to providing family-centered care. This position is a 0.75 FTE Night shift with rotating 3rd weekend requirement.
Assesses patient needs and identifies expected outcomes
Implements Respiratory interventions based on plan of care. Evaluates care and the patients response to interventions and expected outcomes
Delivers care as delegated by physician/authorized practitioner to assigned patient population, or individual patient
Uses communication strategies to achieve desirable outcomes
Operates and maintains all Respiratory Care equipment
Associates Degree in Respiratory Care/Therapy or related field
Respiratory Therapist License issued by the Minnesota Board of Medical Practice
Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) issued by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC)
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
New Graduates only - must complete RRT within 1 year of hire date
Bachelors Degree in Respiratory Care/Therapy or related field
