The network of resources and environment available for this training program assure that it will and can be carried out as intended and that specific research projects supporting or arising from the training will be of high quality and impact. Michigan Medicine From trials of the first safe polio vaccine to the latest breakthroughs in treatments for neurological diseases, the University of Michigan continues to be at the forefront of pioneering research that significantly impacts human health. At $1.6+ billion, the University of Michigan is among the top public universities in research spending in the United States, and the Medical School is responsible for nearly half of those research expenditures.
