SUBFUNCTION DEFINITION: Identifies, researches, and advises staff in the formulation of new business opportunities and/or partnerships for services provided by CCHMC.

REPRESENTATIVE RESPONSIBILITIES

???Patient Assistance
Assess, design, develop and monitor educational materials and resources for parents and patients. Provide support, encouragement, personal assistance, problem solving and information to patients and families surrounding their health related issues and concerns, and assure that staff provides the same service in an empathetic and caring environment at all times. Resolve family concerns, complaints and grievances associated with quality of care and treatment, communication, access and availability of care, customer service, privacy and environment of care.

???Training
Develop and implement goals, standards, policies, educational programs, procedures and practices in alignment with the strategic plan. Participate in the selection, orientation and development of department personnel. Facilitate and provide sufficient training to coordinators to achieve the desired level of competency.

???Patient Experience
Act as a liaison between patient families and clinical and non-clinical teams, as well as third parties. Provide logistical and non-clinical support to traveling families. Provide post-arrival orientations at CCHMC. Administer continuous non-clinical support to patients and families throughout their treatment at CCHMC including follow up for discharged patients upon return to home country. Coordinate timely compliance with payor requirements for re-authorizations, medical documentation, etc. Maintain a database of international patients and documentation pertaining to international patient encounters. Serve as ambassadors to CCHMC, foreign entities, U.S. State Department, and individuals, develop and nurture relationships with community resources and institutions to facilitate collaborations.

???Patient Care
Be a contact for international inquiries for patient care. Solicit medical records of potential international patients. Work with physician specialists throughout CCHMC and their clinical and business support staff to develop appropriate consultation and treatment plans for international patients. In consultation with division financial management and patient financial services, convert consultation/treatment plans into financial estimates of anticipated costs. Work with families, international payors, foreign embassies or ministries of health to arrange reimbursements.

???Facilitation
Upon satisfactory financial arrangements, compose appropriate documentation to support applications for visas to enter the United States. Provide families with orientation information and relevant materials. Ensure continuous communication with families prior to their arrival to address any questions they might have. Ensure that accommodations and hospital transportation in Cincinnati have been arranged. Facilitate the arrangement of interpreter services, as needed.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
