The Intermediate Care Technician (ICT) Generalist is assigned to the Department of Veteran Affairs, Veterans Health Administration (VHA). This position serves as an advance technician for outpatient care settings such as; primary care, mental health, and specialty clinics. As an ICT Generalist the incumbent may serve in a medical center, Community-Based Outpatient Clinic (CBOC), mobile medical unit or may have virtual/remote assignments. In accordance with 38 U.S.C. 7402(d), No person shall serve in direct patient care positions unless they are proficient in basic written and spoken English. You must be proficient in basic written and spoken English in order to meet the requirements of this position. In order to qualify for this position, you must possess at least ONE of the following minimum qualifications: SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Possess one full year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level in federal service that required application of the knowledge, methods, and techniques of this position to be filled. Specific qualifying specialized experience for this position (which should be documented on your resume) is: performing phlebotomy and laboratory procedures; performing proper specimen collection to minimize patient discomfort; using appropriate specimen containers and labels; maintaining professionalism and working as part of a team. OR EDUCATION SUBSTITUTION: Successfully completed one full year of graduate level education that is directly related to the work of this position.
