Job Summary
This position is responsible for providing data and analytic solutions that enable the organization to transform healthcare through Population Health strategic initiatives. In this role, analysts function as a senior-level, strategic business partner who maintains leadership level relationships. They will strive to understand the strategic and operational needs of his or her assigned business areas, provide direction and guidance to business partners functioning as a trusted advisor, and facilitate the prioritization of requests. The position communicates summarized results to stakeholders via written narratives, graphical representations, and presentations when required. Mentors staff on Industry and Population Health knowledge.
Job Duties
- Captures the strategic and operational enterprise goals that provide traceability through the organization and are mapped to metrics that provide ongoing governance.
- Establishes and maintains relationships with business and analytic functional areas.
- Collaborates regularly with management team and subject matter experts (SMEs) to review business requests, priorities, and requirements.
- Produces and provides analytical and technical support for assigned projects using data analysis tools and software.
- Performs complex analyses by utilizing a wide-range of quantitative and qualitative data sets, models, and publications (regulations, guidelines, business rules, reporting requirements and standards).
- Performs initial consultations independently to determine business goals and requirements, functioning as content expert for Population Health data, workflows, and sources. Assists in prioritization of new requests based on strategic plans, level of effort, and resource constraints.
- Gathers technical specifications, designs, and develops on projects of all sizes independently.
- Designs intuitive analytic solutions (reports and dashboards) offering visualization recommendations to stakeholders based on business goals, requirements, and the intended audience.
- Creates reports that answer multiple related questions as well as reports with linked content, drilldown, and nested parameters; Reports are formatted in a well-organized, easy to understand fashion.
- Develops detailed recommendations and operational strategies to implement changes and present to senior management.
- Plans and leads projects and provides time and effort estimates based on requirements gathering.
- Mastery of data literacy - able to identify and derive key insights from data.
- Responsible for following data governance and stewardship practices as defined.
- Creates documentation and discovery associated with all analytics solutions.
- Identifies and escalates data quality issues while performing data profiling, testing, and validation.
- Follows all Intake, Fulfillment, and Change Management practices per department procedures and policies.
- Trains and mentors others on skills and competencies required for previous levels of Business Intelligence Analyst.

Position Details
Preferred Qualifications:
Perform complex analyses using industry standard analytic tools (i.e. Tableau, SAP Business Objects) and leverage multiple data sets including, but not limited to medical claims and clinical electronic health record data; Intermediate to Advanced SQL, data extraction, and data analysis skills.
