Overview
St. Luke's Health System in Boise, ID is seeking a Senior Advisor, Consumer Research and Study Design to join our Consumer Access Experience Team.
Summary
Under minimal supervision, the Senior Advisor, Consumer Research and Study Design is responsible for facilitating the design of new products/services by providing insight, design services, and implementation support to advance St. Luke's competitive market position. With a focus on understanding consumer behavior, this role will utilize advanced methodologies and techniques to gain credible consumer insight to advance St. Luke's competitive position in alignment with localized market climates.
Responsibilities
- Collaborates with members of the Consumer Experience and the Product Development team to create a pipeline and roadmap of new/evolved consumer products and services.
- Develops a deep understanding of the healthcare landscape and market trends and drives personalization / differentiation tactical efforts, influencing decision making within senior-level audiences and building consensus among cross-functional teams.
- Leads design and implementation of primary and secondary research-based approaches to test and validate consumer behavior and consumer decision-making hypotheses, deepening St. Luke's understanding of how consumer behaviors can influence the healthcare landscape and identify emerging trends.
- Drives identification, implementation and/or integration of consumer behavior research methods and the assessments of tools and resources necessary to advance understanding of consumer behavior, healthcare consumer product development and healthcare consumer product performance.
- Coordinates with internal and external consumer behavior subject matter expertise (e.g., internal marketing team, community health team, academic partners, agencies, etc.) to ensure St. Luke's maintains a strong consumer behavior insight generation pipeline.
- Provides consultation to stakeholders requiring the application of advanced problem-solving skills and critical thinking to manage through complex situations. Referring only the most complex situations to senior leadership.
- Maintains active engagement with internal stakeholders to support active learning and advancement of "the consumer mindset" - especially related to how it informs understanding of consumer behavior and consumer decision making.
- Develops and implements strategic analytic approaches to identify and develop business opportunities and partnerships that sustain and advance St. Luke's competitive market position.
- Applies tools and study approaches to validate findings from primary and secondary consumer behavior and consumer decision making studies to relevant consumer populations how they inform business opportunities and partnerships.
- Utilizes product design (UX, UI, UXD) methodologies to innovate the overall consumer experience.
- Ensures that product design efforts are grounded in deep understanding of relevant consumer design research.
- Develops specific study designs to inform and advance the product development process
- Facilitates analytical/insight tools supporting consumer research that identifies consumer needs. Translates conceptual consumer needs into functional requirements in a clear manner that is comprehensible to project teams to influence change.
- Manages through highly complex situations to interpret results and communicate them into feasible options to internal/external stakeholders.
- Prepares reports for distribution to stakeholders including, but not limited to, board of directors, executive leadership, cross-functional governance committees, etc. recommending solutions and/or actions that maintain alignment with system mission and vision.
- Contributes to strategic decision making and risk management by constructively challenging business decisions and conventional ways of thinking that may be in opposition to consumer research data.
- Assists in the development of short-and long-term product/service design and test of change roadmaps.
- Facilitates design sessions with key stakeholders to understand consumer insight, deliver a differentiated experience, and deploy tests of change within a continuous learning cycle.
- Serve as a subject matter expert, decision maker and key team member in projects. Supports progress to accomplish project milestones ensuring timely execution of project deliverables.
- Reviews the work team members produce and provides direction and training as necessary.
- Collaborates cross-functionally to coordinate overall consumer experience design and delivery approaches among various internal teams and stakeholders.
- Responsible for full employment life cycle for staff to include hiring, termination, performance management, coaching, training, and mentoring to staff.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's degree or 4 years of relevant experience in lieu of degree; advanced degree in Behavioral Economics, Public Health, Sociology, or related field preferred
- Experience: 6 years of experience.
