Loudoun County, Virginia, a growing and thriving community of more than 420,000 residents (2020 est.), is seeking a Deputy Director for its Department of Mental Health Substance Abuse and Developmental Services (MHSADS). Located 45 minutes northwest of Washington, D.C., Loudoun County is one of the fastest growing counties in the US and has retained its historic charm while developing into an innovative, globally competitive community.
MHSADS provides a broad spectrum of behavioral health and developmental disability services to individuals of all ages in the Loudoun community. MHSADS connects individuals and their families with person-centered recovery, supports and services to empower people to live quality lives and to experience success in the community of Loudoun. The Deputy Director, in support of the Director, assists with strategic plans and budgets, manages assigned programs and projects, and ensures compliance with County policies, procedures, and related laws/regulations. The Deputy Director functions as a member of the Executive Leadership Team and provides support and supervision for the Assistant Directors within the department. Loudoun County offers a hiring range of $150,000-$175,000 depending on qualifications and experience. Relocation assistance in one lump sum of up to $8,000 will be provided if moving from outside a 40-mile radius of the County. The ideal candidate will possess any combination of education and experience equivalent to a master’s degree in Social Work, Public Administration, or a related area with a minimum of six years of related work experience with increasing responsibility in a complex human services system, with at least two years in a supervisory or management role. Experience in local government, skills in clinical practice, and experience working with a culturally diverse workforce and community is preferred. Previous experience in a collective bargaining environment is a plus. EOE.
