MaineHealth Medical Group, Northern New England’s largest multi-specialty medical group, is seeking a collaborative and exceptional leader in value-based care to serve as its inaugural Vice President of Population Health Management. The Vice President of Population Health Management will guide clinical leaders in the design and implementation of evidenced-based strategies for care coordination and population health management programs aimed to reduce health care spend, improve health outcomes, and improve quality and experience for patients who receive services from MaineHealth Medical Group. This leader will provide the strategic vision to drive innovative quality, performance improvement and population health initiatives across the Medical Group and in coordination with the broader MaineHealth system. The successful candidate will have extensive technical knowledge of care coordination, population health management, ACDI, pay for performance programs and care management models.
Responsibilities:
- The Vice President will be responsible for upholding an environment that fosters provider and staff collaboration to enhance revenues, control costs, manage utilization and improve overall performance.
- A successful candidate will be an effective cross-team leader with significant experience working in partnership with clinicians, administrators, and care team members.
- This position will report to the President of Maine Health Medical Group and will serve as a key member of the medical group leadership team. MaineHealth Medical Group is Northern New England’s largest multi-specialty medical group comprised of approximately 1,100 Physicians, 650 APPs, and nearly 5,000 Care Team members across MaineHealth's 12 hospital service area.
Qualifications:
- MD/DO required from an accredited school. MPH/MBA preferred.
- Licensure as a physician in the State of Maine, Federal DEA number, Medical Staff membership and appropriate clinical privileges within the Medical Group. Must achieve and maintain Board Certification in respective specialty.
- Minimum of 5 years clinical practice required, 10 years preferred and minimum of 5 years progressive management experience.
- In-depth knowledge of care coordination, population health management, ACDI, pay for performance programs and care management models.
- Experience in quality improvement, clinical delivery redesign, healthcare data analysis, clinical.
- Knowledge of the concept of risk and how the application of risk management theory can alter population health outcomes.
- Visionary leadership; entrepreneurial spirit; ability to generate excitement, gain support for and implement programs on local and regional levels.
- Accountability for results from administrative and clinical leaders.
