Perfusionist
DescriptionSummary: A perfusionist is responsible for the delivery of patient care as needed during a surgical procedure. A perfusionist maintains and operates cardiopulmonary pump, Cell Saver, auto transfuser and intra-aortic balloon pump during invasive cardiovascular procedures, and provides assistance to the physicians as needed. Sets up and operates heart-lung machine to assume the functions of patient organs during surgery. Under surgeon's or anesthesiologist's directions operates equipment to achieve bypass, coronary perfusion, recirculation or partial bypass, or to alter blood content, temperature or balance. Requirements:Graduate of accredited program in perfusion technology5 years
