Desert Regional Medical Center is a 385 bed acute-care hospital classified as a stroke receiving center and level 2 trauma facility with an innovative, patient centered and evidence-based Rehabilitation Services Department.
Our compassionate team provides a wide range of inpatient and outpatient services, including acute care rehabilitation, joint replacement & spinal surgery, neurosurgery, ICU, Telemetry, step-down care, skilled nursing, as well as outpatient therapy, hand and lymphedema clinics.
Responsible for the coordination of an organization-wide information resource which ties together clinical, fiscal and process measurement data to provide a reports and information distribution for the organization. Ability to
prioritize projects based on organizational importance, resources available and required timeframes. Provides
customers within the organization with information appropriate to their decision-making needs. Assists in
coordinating and implementing performance measurement/tracking systems.
â�¢ Will work under the direction of the Director of Clinical Quality Improvement (DCQI) to ensure assignments are completed according to time frames and quality expectations are met.
â�¢ Assists in coordinating, implementing and benchmarking identification systems such as Core Measures, PSMS, OSHPD (CCRMP Utilization), Directorâ��s Scorecard system, Balanced Scorecard system and Other Quality Initiative Support.
â�¢ Supports Medical Staff peer review data collection functions
â�¢ Coordinates the production of Physician Performance Feedback reports and Quality Profiles used in the physician recredentialing process
â�¢ Responsible for the coordination and implementation of organization-wide:
1. Use of solid, uniform data for decision-making
2. Performance tracking and measurement systems
3. Benchmarking and opportunity identification systems
4. Integration of clinical, fiscal and operational process measurement data
5. Project management as related to decision support/knowledge management activities
â�¢ Coordinate and implement performance measurement tracking systems
â�¢ Document assigned analysis/reporting projects as to needs, resources required, plan of action and timeframe. Prioritize projects based on organizational importance resources available and required timeframes
â�¢ Attends Department, Hospital, and Corporate meetings as assigned
â�¢ Meet hospital wide and department competencies
â�¢ Participates willingly in Department/Hospital process improvement plans
â�¢ Ensures confidentiality with patient and physician information and demonstrates understanding with HIPAA
â�¢ Responsible for other duties as assigned
DEPARTMENT SPECIFIC DUTIES:
â�¢ Analyze, identify, evaluate and document user department decision support needs; review current or develop new applications to support those decision support requirements; and insure that current and future decision support needs are met for patient care, regulatory requirements and daily hospital operations. This includes but is not limited to; Customers are interviewed and decision support system needs are assessed. Performance Improvement tools are utilized to present a complete analysis. Will coordinate activities to insure database access, integrity and security. Will develop or assist users in developing analytical and statistical reports for quality review, marketing and budgeting needs. Decision support projects are implemented in an acceptable time frame and with in the recommended budgetary allotments.
â�¢ Coordinates and generates standard reports and performs system maintenance based on reporting calendar and by request. This includes but is not limited to; Prepares adhoc reports for Quality Services and Hospital Administration; Generates detail data reports for Medical Staff Peer Review Committees; Supports information display requirements of the Quality Services, including generating tables, charts, graphs and statistical analysis from data stored in departmental and hospital database systems; designs and creates computer data collection forms for quality audits; maintains organized computer files of data collection forms and database results; Coordinates and implements reports such as the Quality Dashboard, physician profiling, Core Measures and all other data requirements supported by the Quality Department.
â�¢ Bachelorâ��s Degree or equivalent in Business or a computer related field or three to five years of healthcare experience in management, systems analysis or project management
â�¢ Strong analytical skills with the ability to apply technical knowledge to business situations
â�¢ Knowledgeable and demonstrates competency in quantitative analysis and reporting methods, finance accounting measures, clinical/resource utilization measures, system analysis, statistical analysis and organization specific data sources
â�¢ Demonstrates ability to independently manage multiple priorities
â�¢ Excellent interpersonal and communications skills
â�¢ Experience with software that is internally installed such as;
a. Showcase Query and Report writer
b. Microsoft Excel
c. Microsoft Access
d. Microsoft Word
f. Crystal Reports
g. Health Information Management and Patient Accounting Systems
