ChristianaCare is currently recruiting for a Registered Nurse for the Vascular Access Nursing team to be responsible and accountable for pediatric, adult, adolescent, and geriatric patients to provide Vascular Access Nursing care to patients through the nursing process in collaboration with other healthcare team members. This team provides the opportunity to sharpen your vascular access skills and work in an interesting specialty that offers autonomy and flexibility. This position requires shifts at both Christiana Hospital and Wilmington Hospital.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
Demonstrates skills and knowledge related to Vascular Access Nursing necessary to provide care to pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients including knowledge of growth and development, the ability to obtain and interpret information to identify patient needs, and to provide the care needed.
Performs and documents assessment of patients on admission and throughout hospital stay, initiating, individualizing and evaluating the plan of care including patient response and outcome related to Vascular Access Nursing.
Assesses patient/family's learning needs and carries out teaching measures such as the central line teaching record.
Initiate IV therapy in a safe and effective manner.
- BSN required; or commitment to obtaining within three years of date of hire.
- Qualified candidates should be highly motivated and energetic.
- Must have a minimum of 1 year of previous Medical/Surgical experience required and previous IV experience.
- BLS required.
Hours: This is 72 hours per pay period. Shifts are combinations of 8 & 12 hour shifts. This is a shift of 11 a.m. - 11:30 p.m. or 3 p.m. - 11:30 p.m.
Other: Requires weekends per departmental requirements.
Bonus: The successful candidate will be eligible for a Sign-On Bonus of $10,000
