Adhering to Hospital’s policies and procedures, JCAHO and state regulatory guidelines, you’ll collaborate with the Manager to oversee all operational functions of the department to promote quality patient care. Primary responsibilities:
Lead and supervise a team in quality and quantity of work, including the decontamination and sterilization processes, inventory of supplies, preventative maintenance and QI/PI activities
Adhere to budgetary guidelines, including control of inventory and supply expenses
Perform all personnel-related activities: recruitment, education, training, evaluations, disciplinary counseling, and staff competencies
Implement a unit-based QA program to improve the quality of services
Develop a working knowledge of sterilization technique to help staff in daily routine and troubleshooting
To be successful, you should have:
High School Diploma or GED
Minimum of 5 years relevant experience in Central Processing and Supply Management
Certification from the International Association of Healthcare Central Service Material Management (IAHCSMM) or Certified Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution
A solid knowledge base of infection control practices as it pertains to surgical services and AAMI standards
Excellent oral and written communication skills
