Atlantic Health System is seeking a per diem Secretary Technician to work in the Inpatient Psychiatric Unit at our Overlook Medical Center location. The shift is either 7am-7:30pm or 7pm-7:30a one day per week inlcuding one weekend shift per schedule.
Secretarial Duties: Including but not limited to answering phones, call bells, visitor intercom, supply inventory and ordering, restocking supplies, supply procurement, preparing and maintaining patient charts, tracking patient flow in and out of the unit, and filing as needed. Meet the requirements of a Secretary/ Technician Criteria Based Performance Appraisal. Comply with hospital policies and procedures. Attend department and Unit Rep/PCT meetings, complete all necessary training, maintain competencies and participate in quality improvement projects. Demonstrate effective communication skills with patients, families, team members, and interdepartmentally. Ensure patient/family expectations are exceeded.
Patient Care Technician Duties: As directed by RN, including but not limited to ECGs, phlebotomy, glucometer testing, meal assistance, transportation, disinfecting equipment, and performing ADLs such as skin care needs, bathing, oral hygiene, and mobility. The candidate will be flexible, and patient focused, assisting with patient care, patient watches, and transportation as needed. The candidate will be flexible with role and adjust hours to meet patient care needs. Must be proficient at coordination and prioritization of duties to ensure efficiency, accuracy, and timeliness of patient care and workflow.
Education: High School Diploma required. College preferred.
Computer Skills: Microsoft Word and Excel required. Epic preferred.
Clinical Skills: Phlebotomy, ECG, glucometer and BLS certification preferred.
Prior administrative and/or patient care experience in health care preferred.
