Under the general direction of the Director of the Bureau of Cancer Epidemiology, the incumbent will serve as Director of the Cancer Surveillance Program, which has primary responsibility for responding to inquiries from the public regarding cancer incidence in small geographic areas or among defined populations. The incumbent will conduct investigations and prepare epidemiological reports in response to these inquiries. The incumbent will supervise professional staff in support of these activities and will chair meetings of the Cancer Surveillance Advisory Committee. The position involves significant collaboration and coordination with other units in the Bureau and the Department (e.g., Center for Environmental Health).
