The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) functions as a responsible member of the Emergency Department. The LPN GS-7 has knowledge and skills necessary to carry out more specialized patient care duties, includes assignments in selected, more complext outpatient care settings. The LPN GS-7 has a knowledge based that promotes the incorporation of current patient care data in actively contributing to the development of the patients overall health plan and in carrying out assigned nursing interventions.
