The Division of Health Policy and Administration (HPA) School of Public Health (SPH) University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC)
The Division of Health Policy and Administration (HPA) at the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC) School of Public Health (SPH) seeks to fill a tenure-track faculty position (open rank) in the area of?Public Health Informatics.
We are searching for scholars with research strengths in?one or more?of the following areas:?public and population health information systems; development and evaluation of eHealth/mobile health applications for health promotion and disease prevention; public or population health data analytics (syndromic surveillance and outbreak detection algorithms, modeling of infectious diseases); big data, data science and predictive analytics; applications of artificial intelligence in public and population health; and, use of electronic health records/personal health records/population health records and health information exchanges data for policy and interventions evaluation.
The successful candidate is expected to have a PhD in any of the following research areas: public/population health sciences, data sciences, computer sciences, statistics or applied mathematics, with an informatics focus. A strong record of teaching, research and experience with extramurally funded research grants along with leadership skills is expected commensurate with stage of career.
HPA offers MPH, MHA and PhD degrees with MPH and MSc degrees in Public Health Informatics. The UIC Public Health Informatics MPH program is the oldest online program in the country and has produced over 200 alumni since 2004. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to play a leading role in further building and developing our teaching and research programs related to Public Health Informatics in the Division of HPA and the public health informatics track of the School of Public Health's Doctor of Public Health in Leadership (DrPH) Program, and to engage in the broader field of health informatics across the UIC campus.
