Laborist Position - Phelps Hospital in Beautiful Mid-Hudson Valley Westchester County, Sleepy Hollow, NY
The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Phelps Hospital-Northwell Health is expanding and seeking a full-time (or part-time) OB/GYN Hospitalist to primarily provide in house overnight and weekend coverage for patients Shifts will be 12 hours or 24 hours. The OB/GYN Hospitalist/Safety Officer will be responsible for performing triaging and performing deliveries on all patients from the NHPP – physician practice and unassigned patients, caring for postpartum patients and performing circumcisions as needed. Other responsibilities include providing OB/GYN consultation for Inpatient services and Emergency Department and perform emergency surgical procedures. Anesthesia physicians and Medical Hospitalist service is in house 24/7. Phelps Hospital has a Level 1 nursery and is performing approximately 1000 deliveries per year. There are 4 Labor and Delivery rooms and 2 operating rooms within the unit for cesarean sections. The Maternal Child Unit is currently undergoing a multimillion dollar renovation and expansion.
