Responsibilities include providing the highest level of GI services with a concentration on digestive health issues and organs including the stomach, intestines, bowels and other organs that are related to the digestive tract.  Gastroenterologists assess the structure of the patient’s digestive tract and are experts in digestive tract diseases, including polyps, peptic ulcer disease, or pancreatitis. They perform diagnostic tests in an outpatient clinic or hospital, including colonoscopy and endoscopy tests, and perform imaging screens including ultrasounds, CT scans, MRIs or X-rays.
