Job DescriptionCollects blood from patients by performing venipuncture or finger-and-heel sticks for laboratory tests and for donations to the Blood Bank in accordance with established standards and practices/procedures, timely and effectively, as directed by the supervisor.Assesses patients for appropriate IV site, and initiates peripheral intravenous lines using jelcos, butterflies, needles, etc. as directed through physician orders. Changes IV sites every 48 hours. Rotation on floors every other day to check site. Keeps a log of all patients' IVs so that site case can be done accurately.Performs "bleeding times", testing blood clotting speed, blood cultures, blood glucose and other more adva
